Milwaukee, Wisconsin On June 20, 2024, police patrolling near 17th and Vliet spotted a white Chevrolet SUV, previously stolen in an armed carjacking. An attempt to stop the vehicle resulted in a high-speed chase, with the SUV driving on the wrong side of the road, narrowly missing a pedestrian, and causing another vehicle to swerve onto the curb. The chase continued onto I-43 northbound at Highland Boulevard, where the SUV sideswiped a vehicle and entered a construction zone, eventually colliding with a cement truck near Burleigh Street. Officers, with weapons drawn, approached the SUV. The officers commanded the occupants to exit the vehicle, but the driver reversed towards the police, prompting an officer to discharge their firearm at the SUV. Six individuals were inside; two were shot: 18-year-old Semira Dean, 17-year-old Calveyon Jeans, 18-year-old Ashley Patterson, and 17-year-old Tyrone Rogers, who collectively face 20 criminal charges. Two minors, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were also detained. Jeans, identified as the driver, sustained gunshot injuries to his arm and jaw. Patterson, visibly pregnant, suffered wounds to her head and back, resulting in the loss of her unborn child. The remaining passengers, including Dean, Rodgers, and the two minors, received treatment for minor injuries. Inside the SUV, authorities found a firearm stolen from a Waukesha County sheriff's deputy's personal vehicle. The four teenagers are also suspected of an attempted armed robbery prior to the chase. #police #pursuit #wisconsin #bodycam
