Full breakdown and bodycam/surveillance analysis comparing two intense encounters involving attempted officer disarmings: one where a suspect successfully gained control of a duty weapon, and another where weapon retention changed the outcome. In the primary incident on September 26, 2020, 29-year-old Jose Guzman entered the LAPD Harbor Community Police Station in San Pedro, California, attacking Officer Anthony Freeman and successfully disarming him of his loaded duty weapon before opening fire inside the lobby. We examine the lobby surveillance, the exchange of gunfire with Sergeant Robin Aguirre, and the high-speed pursuit that followed. In the second incident from December 6, 2023, Reno Police responded to a domestic disturbance on Colorado River Boulevard in Reno, Nevada. During a close-quarters struggle, 34-year-old Caleb Briggs grabbed an officer's sidearm in an attempt to disarm him, but the officer successfully retained control of his weapon, leading to an officer-involved shooting. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - Introduction & Overview 0:44 - LAPD Harbor Station Lobby Incident (San Pedro, CA) 2:34 - LAPD Emergency Dispatch Radio Call 3:52 - Station Surveillance & Shots Fired 5:40 - Pursuit of Jose Guzman 6:04 - LAPD Bodycam: High-Speed Vehicle Pursuit & Arrest 9:42 - Incident 2: Reno Police Domestic Disturbance (Reno, NV) 10:34 - 911 Audio: Disturbance on Colorado River Blvd 11:24 - Reno Police Bodycam: Confrontation & Officer-Involved Shooting 12:30 - Suspect Handcuffed & Emergency Medical Aid 15:11 - Case Outcomes: Guzman 33-Year Sentence & Briggs Aftermath 16:11 - Texas Safety Watch Conclusion & Tactical Analysis 📌 CASE DETAILS & FACTS: • Incident 1: LAPD Harbor Community Police Station | San Pedro, California - Suspect: Jose Guzman (Sentenced to 33 years in California State Prison) - Involved Personnel: Officer Anthony Freeman, Sergeant Robin Aguirre - Recovered: Loaded 9mm Beretta duty handgun • Incident 2: Reno Police Department | Reno, Nevada - Suspect: Caleb Briggs (34) - Location: Colorado River Boulevard This video examines the incidents using publicly released police bodycam footage, dashcam video, surveillance footage, cellphone video, 911 calls, dispatch audio, witness recordings, and investigative findings, when available.
