Officers initiate a late-night traffic stop after observing a vehicle with an expired license plate. The driver continues driving briefly and later explains she was on a bridge and looking for a safe place to pull over. Police note that she passed several safe shoulders before stopping in a residential complex. Upon contact, officers report smelling alcohol, hearing erratic speech, and observing signs of agitation. The driver claims the odor is from spilled wine earlier in the car. She agrees to field sobriety tests but becomes increasingly argumentative and refuses to complete them. When officers order her to turn around, she resists, and they take her into custody. Police state that force was used due to active resistance and threats. The woman claims she was frightened and unlawfully arrested. She was later adjudicated guilty of DUI, with adjudication withheld on the remaining charges. All individuals remain innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Disclaimer: ⚠️ This video contains real police bodycam footage from a traffic stop and DUI arrest.
