Oklahoma City police released the name of the suspect who was arrested early Thursday following a standoff and police-involved shooting. Police arrested 40-year-old Antwon Demon Hill on suspicion of felony pointing of a firearm and possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, according to Oklahoma City police. Officer Andrew Ash went to Alora Apartments in the 6300 block of Northwest 63rd Street in response to a reported disturbance. He arrived at about 8:16 p.m. Wednesday. Ash encountered Hill in a breezeway. “Shortly thereafter, Mr. Hill reached into his pocket, produced a pistol and pointed it at Officer Ash,” Capt. Valerie Littlejohn said. Ash pulled out his gun and fired at Hill, Littlejohn said. Hill scrambled into an apartment. He was not hit by Ash’s gunfire, Littlejohn said. Other people who were inside the apartment came out after Hill went inside. A standoff ensued, with officers and tactical team members positioned outside the apartment, waiting on Hill to surrender. Hill surrendered at around 2 a.m. Thursday. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Ash was placed on routine administrative leave.
