On October 21, 2023 at approxamatly 9:30pm in Asbury Park, New Jersey, officers respond to a report of a fight on Borden Avenue—but what they find is stranger than the call. Devyn Piotrowski, a 25-year-old inside a wrecked rented 2021 Nissan Rogue, is blasting loud music and acting confrontational. A nearby resident tells police she’s never met Devyn, but says Devyn is behaving erratically and won’t leave her alone. As officers try to make sense of the scene, Devyn keeps walking away, refuses to comply, and her explanations don’t add up. Then police locate an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, and the encounter escalates fast. Devyn is arrested for obstruction, resists during the escort, and the confrontation continues all the way into the station during processing. She is later released pending court and issued summonses for Open Container and Obstructing the Administration of Law. She was not charged with DUI or trying to obtain any illegal substances or drugs.
