[Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only] Field, British Columbia, Canada — On December 8, 2023, around 9:30 p.m., a British Columbia RCMP Highway Patrol officer and a tow truck operator were impounding a vehicle on Highway #1 when a tractor-trailer struck the stationary units. Despite the tow truck’s activated flashing amber lights, the eastbound tractor-trailer failed to slow down or move over, resulting in a collision that destroyed the tow truck, the tractor-trailer, and an impounded Mercedes. Dash-camera footage from multiple perspectives illustrates the crash, which occurred just west of Field in Yoho National Park. The tractor-trailer launched into the air, rolled over and trapped the driver. Luckily, the officer, tow operator, and the other motorist were safely off the roadway and avoided injury. On April 8, 2026, the driver of the tractor-trailer, 38-year-old Dalvir Singh Jhattu, was found guilty of dangerous driving. He was sentenced to a six-month conditional sentence, 90 days of house arrest, and a 12-month Canada-wide driving ban.
