On December 1, 2024, Roswell Police Officers were dispatched to a motorist passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle. An Eddy County Sheriff's Deputy came across the woman, who failed to proceed through the intersection, even though the traffic light had cycled green numerous times. The Sheriff's Deputy called the Roswell Police Department for assistance since he was outside of Eddy County. As officers were making their approach to the vehicle, the woman woke up and drove off. Officers gave chase and the woman pulled over a few blocks later. She was traveling with her 6-year-old daughter, who was unrestrained and sleeping in the front seat. The woman admitted to consuming alcohol several hours before. Officers had her perform standardized field sobriety tests and she was eventually arrested for Driving While Under the Influence (DWI). She refused to provide a breath sample. Her complete list of charges is discussed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
