A couple on an anniversary trip to Las Vegas is removed from a Nashville flight after an argument and a reported assault on a flight attendant. Officers separate the couple and take statements. He says the flight attendant tried to remove his wife without reason. She confirms he was drinking heavily at the bar before boarding. He refuses to provide ID, is placed under arrest, and resists with three officers required to secure him. The flight attendant declines to press charges to make her flight. Prosecutors file simple assault independently months later. He is charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and simple assault. Trial is set for April twenty twenty six. This video examines the federal statute covering interference with flight crew and how it relates to local airport charges, why a victim declining to press charges does not prevent prosecution, the disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges and what the conduct in this video satisfies, and why airport incidents involving airline personnel tend to produce more persistent prosecutorial follow through than standard street encounters.
