It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: Early on February 5, 2025, Officer Erin DeVries spotted a speeding blue Nissan Kicks. It was going 55 in a 35 zone on Ogden Avenue. A white Prius followed closely. She activated her lights near Authority Drive. The Nissan stopped at I-355. She spoke with the driver, Alexis Wroblewski, 25. Alexis smelled of alcohol. An open High Noon was inside. Alexis said she was going home from a Bulls game. She seemed impaired. She admitted drinking earlier. Officer DeVries asked Alexis to say the alphabet. Alexis could not say it correctly. She also failed to count backward. Deputy Kanis arrived to help. Alexis then got out for tests. The first test checked eye movements. Alexis's eyes didn't track smoothly. They jerked at the end. Her eyes also jerked before 45 degrees. They jerked vertically too. The next test was walking and turning. Alexis stepped incorrectly. She turned wrong. Her arms were not at her sides. The last test was standing on one foot. Alexis could not lift her foot properly. She also did not count right. Officer DeVries offered a breath test. It showed a BAC of 0.181%. Because of her driving, drinking, open container, failed tests, and the breath test, Officer DeVries arrested Alexis. The charge was DUI. Handcuffed, Alexis rode in the patrol car. She went to the Downers Grove Police Department. There, she heard the warning. She agreed to breath tests. The breathalyzer showed 0.165%. This was double the legal limit. Alexis also talked. She admitted drinking vodka and tequila. Processing finished around 3:45 AM. She took an Uber home. Alexis was charged with: Driving under the influence with a BAC of .08 or more.
