Athens-Clarke County Police respond to a hit-and-run after a silver Chevy Equinox strikes a light pole in downtown Athens and continues driving. Debris from the suspect vehicle detaches and damages a witness's parked car. The witness records video and calls 911. Officers locate the driver -- Amy Melissa Staud -- in a nearby hotel parking deck. Staud tells officers she thought she had only hit a light pole and didn't realize she had caused any other damage. She was on her lunch break and had been eating fish and fries from Captain D's. A search of her car turned up an open beer hidden under her purse.
