On August 7, 2025, a Leon County Sheriff’s deputy drew his weapon on a man pumping gas at a Circle K on Monroe Street in Tallahassee, Florida. The deputy claimed he mistook the gas nozzle in the man’s hand for a firearm as he was driving by. The victim, who was simply trying to signal a gas station employee to turn on the pump, was immediately held at gunpoint. In the bodycam footage, the man can be heard yelling in disbelief, "What the f**, you just pull a gun out?"* and accusing the officer of profiling. Despite the tense standoff, no shots were fired.
