Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: On August 4, 2024, around 5:45 PM, Patrolman Hadyn Matarazzo from the Manalapan Township Police got a call about a car crash near 89 Millhurst Road. He pulled up and talked to the driver of a white 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. She was Valeria Pradyvus. Her six-year-old daughter sat in the back seat. The girl first said her shoulder hurt. So, they called first aid to check her out. Valeria said she had just grabbed her daughter from tutoring. Now she was driving to get her son from daycare. She told police she swerved to miss a pothole. But later, they figured she hit a rock by a driveway. That caused damage to her car's front end. Soon, Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo showed up too. He saw Valeria struggling to find her papers. Officers smelled alcohol on her breath. They asked her to do sobriety tests. The first test was Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, or HGN. Capuzzo watched her eyes closely. He saw no smooth tracking at the end. Nystagmus started before 45 degrees. He spotted vertical nystagmus too. Next came the Walk and Turn test. Matarazzo ran it. Valeria missed heel-to-toe steps. She turned the wrong way. The last test was One Leg Stand. She tried a few times. But she couldn't lift her foot right. She kept dropping it too soon. The crash, the alcohol smell, and her poor test scores led Matarazzo to arrest her for DUI. A quick search of her car found an open booze bottle. They impounded the vehicle for 12 hours under John's Law. Matarazzo drove Valeria to the station for booking. Capuzzo took her daughter to wait. They signed a liability warning for her mom. At the station, they read Valeria the standard rights for drivers. She agreed to give breath samples. The Alcotest showed 0.37% blood alcohol. That's over four times the 0.08% limit. They took her photo and prints. Then they let her go to a sober friend until court. Valeria got these tickets: Driving under the influence (39:4-50) DWI near school zone (39:4-50(G)(1)) Reckless driving (39:4-96) Careless driving (39:4-97) Staying in lanes (39:4-88) Blocking other cars (39:4-67) Open container (39:4-51B) They also charged her with child endangerment (2C:24-4A(2)). Court papers show that on August 26, 2025, she pled guilty to DUI. For that, she got an ignition lock for three months. She had to go to a drunk driver class for a year. And she paid $790 in fines.
