Outstanding work by the Troopers on this very interesting case. They found evidence potentially linking him to multiple unsolved crimes going as far back as 2018. The official report is too long to post so below is the official summary: On 1/15/2023 AST received a report of a possible burglary in Nenana while the homeowner was out of town. AST responded and investigated and determined a burglary of a residence occurred and handguns had been stolen. Anticipating the burglar would return, AST waited in the residence until the burglar returned at 0330 hours on 1/16/2023. AST arrested RONALD (REDACTED). AST then backtracked his footprints back to his residence where a search warrant was obtained and the stolen handguns were located as well as additional illegal weapons. RONALD was remanded on multiple burglary charges, theft charges, and MIW charges. He was charged with: Burglary 1- Armed With Firearm (Class B Felony) Burglary 1- In A Dwelling (Class B Felony) 2 counts of Theft 2-Firearm/Explosive (Class C Felony) Theft 4-Less than $250 (Class B Misdemeanor) Crim Mischief 4-Prop Dam $250-$749 (Class A Misdemeanor) 2 counts of Misc/Weapons 3 - Prohibited Weapon (Class C Felony) Misc/Weapons 3 - Felon In Possession (Class C Felony) Poss Burglary Tools- Intend Burglary (Class A Misdemeanor) He was convicted of: Burglary 1- In A Dwelling (Class B Felony) 1 count of Theft 2-Firearm/Explosive (Class C Felony) Poss Burglary Tools- Intend Burglary (Class A Misdemeanor) All other charges were dismissed.
