On September 11, 2025, officers in Florida conducted a traffic stop after observing a wanted individual — identified as 32-year-old Cody — seated as a passenger in a vehicle. Cody had an active arrest warrant for exploitation of an elderly person and fraud exceeding $20,000. What followed was a tense and chaotic arrest involving active resistance, a Taser deployment, and the presence of an infant child on scene. In this video, we analyze the full bodycam footage, apply the Graham v. Connor (1989) use-of-force standard, review Florida's resisting arrest statutes (Fla. Stat. § 843.02), and provide the full background on Cody's pattern of conduct targeting elderly homeowners with fraudulent yard work schemes dating back to 2019. Cody was ultimately sentenced to 1 month and 15 days in county jail for resisting arrest, with the sentence reduced due to body camera footage. He was subsequently convicted of felony exploitation of an elderly person in early 2026 and is currently serving a sentence of 1 year and 4 days. All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. LEGAL CITATIONS: Graham v. Connor, 490 U.S. 386 (1989) Pennsylvania v. Mimms, 434 U.S. 106 (1977) Miranda v.
