The PIT maneuver, or Precision Immobilization Technique, is a law enforcement tactic used to stop a fleeing vehicle by causing it to spin out and come to a stop. It involves a pursuing officer making controlled contact with the rear of the fleeing vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and spin out.
