On March 16, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., SAPD Officer Orlando Jimenez initiated a traffic stop on eastbound West Loop 410 near Vance Jackson. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Miguel Morin, did not immediately stop and continued driving until he pulled into a gas station on Vance Jackson Road. Morin, the sole occupant of the vehicle, exited and fled on foot, dropping a black backpack as he ran. Officer Jimenez pursued him on foot and eventually caught up to him at a residence in the 200 block of Birchwood Drive. The officer noticed a knife on Morin’s hip and deployed his taser, which appeared to have no effect. As the officer dropped the taser, Morin approached and picked it up. In response, the officer discharged his firearm multiple times, striking Morin. Life-saving measures were performed until EMS arrived, but Morin was pronounced dead at the scene. A search of the dropped backpack revealed a handgun and narcotics. No officers or bystanders were injured during the incident. 0:00 - Preview 0:06 - Description of events 0:28 - Bodycam footage 1:51 - Shooting #SAPD #SanAntonioPolice #OfficerInvolvedShooting #PoliceChase #TrafficStop #SanAntonioNews #BreakingNews #CrimeScene #TexasNews #LawEnforcement #BodycamFootage #PoliceFootage #FootPursuit #SuspectShot #MiguelMorin #PublicSafety #WestLoop410 #VanceJackson #BirchwoodDrive Disclaimer: The following content contains graphic scenes of violence that may be disturbing to some viewers.
