On November 10th, 2024, officers were dispatched to The Laughing Fox Tavern in Magnolia, New Jersey after staff reported an intoxicated customer refusing to pay his tab and leave the restaurant. According to employees, the man had been inside the bar for several hours, consumed multiple alcoholic drinks, and became disruptive when informed he would not receive additional food unless he paid his bill. When officers arrived, the man continued arguing, refused to leave despite management requesting him removed, and began recording officers at close range. Even after eventually paying the $29 bill, management requested he be trespassed from the business. The man ignored repeated lawful orders to exit and became increasingly aggressive. As officers attempted to escort him out, he resisted arrest, tensed his arms, grabbed onto the bar, and had to be taken to the ground. During the struggle, an officer sustained a minor injury, and the man later kicked the restaurant’s automatic sliding door off its track. The situation continued to escalate after arrest, with the man refusing medical treatment, resisting transport, and repeatedly acting uncooperative at the hospital and police headquarters. He was ultimately charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Law, Failure to Allow Fingerprinting, Disorderly Conduct, and Defiant Trespassing.
