On July 15, 2024, Palm Beach County deputies investigated fraudulent check-cashing at multiple Regions Bank branches. A suspect successfully cashed four forged checks from a legitimate company’s account before being flagged when attempting to cash a $3,800 check. Bank employees alerted authorities, and investigations confirmed the checks were fake. The suspect admitted involvement, claiming they were misled by an ex-boyfriend and believed they were paid for delivery work. Despite initial denial, evidence showed multiple fraudulent deposits. Given the option to self-surrender or face a warrant, the suspect chose to comply. They were ultimately charged with felony uttering a forged check and felony grand theft.
