A Colorado police officer was indicted in 2026 on second degree murder and manslaughter charges stemming from a fatal 2025 officer involved shooting in Aurora. Watch the complete official bodycam footage and decide for yourself whether the evidence supports the indictment. This video examines the key moments that will likely become the focus of trial, including the suspect’s flight from a traffic stop, the vehicle crash, the physical struggle, the discarded firearm, the attempted transition to a less lethal option, and the officer’s ultimate use of deadly force. On August 30, 2025, Aurora Police Officer Matthew Neely attempted to stop Rajon Belt-Stubblefield for speeding and suspected DUI. Instead of stopping, Belt-Stubblefield fled the traffic stop, collided with multiple vehicles, and eventually crashed. According to the publicly released investigation and body camera footage, Belt-Stubblefield discarded a handgun after exiting his vehicle, physically fought with Officer Neely, repeatedly instructed his son to retrieve the firearm, and continued advancing while Officer Neely backed away and appeared to attempt a transition to a less lethal option before ultimately using deadly force. Rajon Belt-Stubblefield was pronounced deceased at the scene despite officers providing first aid until paramedics arrived. Nearly one year later, an Arapahoe County grand jury indicted Officer Neely on charges of second degree murder and manslaughter. The case raises important questions about officer decision making, threat assessment, use of force, and how juries evaluate rapidly evolving encounters under the law. Analysis and commentary are provided from the perspective of a former federal agent, former law enforcement officer, and digital forensics examiner. Whether you are an aspiring law enforcement officer, a current officer, criminal justice student, attorney, first responder, or simply interested in public safety, these case studies are designed to highlight tactical decision making, officer safety principles, legal considerations, and practical lessons that can be applied to real world law enforcement encounters. ⚠️ VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED ⚠️ This video contains real police bodycam footage from a critical incident that some viewers may find disturbing.
