Deputies were called to a hair salon after a customer allegedly left without paying for services. According to the incident report, the complainant followed the individual and was able to direct responding deputies to her location nearby, where she was identified and detained. Investigators say the customer had been informed of the cost before receiving the service but refused to pay afterward and walked out. The complainant provided a sworn statement along with surveillance footage from inside the business. A records check revealed prior theft-related convictions, which initially elevated the charge at the time of arrest. Court filings show the original felony charge was later not filed and the case was moved to misdemeanor court, where it was refiled as a lesser theft offense involving a prior conviction. Bond was initially set at $5,000 and later lowered to $3,000. She was ultimately released on her own recognizance and entered a not guilty plea. After failing to appear for a scheduled court hearing, a warrant was issued. She was later taken back into custody following that warrant.
