A medical call in Wisconsin Rapids turned into a nightmare when police say a naked man climbed into an ambulance and drove away with a patient still secured in the back. Two paramedics were inside when it happened. One tried to stop him, and the other had to get out when the situation became too dangerous. But the patient was still trapped in the rear compartment as the ambulance took off. Police said the chase stretched more than 18 miles and lasted around 40 minutes before officers used a tire deflation device. The ambulance finally got stuck in a muddy field, and officers used a drone to watch the suspect before moving in. The suspect, identified as Benjamin L. Feltz, was taken into custody. Police said both he and the patient were not injured, but the charges requested included operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, obstructing emergency personnel, recklessly endangering safety, and OWI third offense.
