On May 24, 2024 at approximately 6:45 p.m., Fort Lauderdale police responded to a chaotic situation involving two vehicles — a yellow Stingray Corvette and a gray car — in a busy parking lot. Witnesses reported an intense argument between the drivers, with both parties allegedly armed and escalating the confrontation. Officers arrived just as the Corvette sped into the lot. With lights flashing, they moved in and confronted the driver — who claimed his name was “Alex.” But bodycam footage reveals the truth: the driver was Franky Venegas, better known as Kodiyakredd, one-half of the viral TikTok duo The Island Boys. Franky was impersonating his twin brother to avoid being identified, knowing he was driving without a valid license. After a quick background check and the discovery of his Florida ID, police confirmed his true identity. Franky told officers he was driving recklessly because he feared for his life — claiming the men in the gray car had pulled a gun and were preparing to pistol-whip him. Franky was arrested and charged with: Operating a vehicle without a valid license, Providing false ID to law enforcement and Reckless driving. This incident adds to his legal history — in 2023, Franky was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at an Airbnb in Pompano Beach. That case was later dismissed.
