On December 22, 2023, an officer stopped a driver suspected of driving under the influence. The driver admitted to consuming more alcohol than intended but denied using any drugs, attributing coordination issues to PTSD. During the stop, the driver was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, including horizontal gaze nystagmus, walk-and-turn, one-leg stand, reciting the alphabet, and time estimation. The driver struggled with each test, showing signs of impairment. Based on the poor performance, the officer concluded that the driver was likely intoxicated and arrested them for DUI. Additionally, the vehicle was found improperly parked across two spaces, but it remained in place as it was legally parked in this instance.
