Officer David Marchetti pulled up and saw a gray 2019 Volkswagen Jetta with small dents on its back bumper. It had hit a parked 2023 Kia Sportage. The driver, Anngie Arriola, talked with SLEO Daniela Maradiegue while handing over her details. But her boyfriend, Miguel Zevallos, grew loud and rude. Even after several warnings, he kept it up. So, they arrested him. As they cuffed Miguel, Officer Marchetti started checking Anngie for drunk driving. He smelled booze on her breath. He spotted other signs she might be impaired. Anngie said she had drunk earlier that day. She planned to drive home right then. Sure she was over the limit, they asked her to do sobriety tests. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus check. Officer Marchetti noted her eyes jerked without smooth tracking. They shook hard at the edges. The shakes started way before 45 degrees. Next, she tried the One Leg Stand. Anngie did not lift her foot high enough. She dropped it too soon. The test ended early. Then, the Walk and Turn. At first, Anngie missed the steps right. She tried again but missed heel-to-toe touches. Her turn went wrong too. With the crash, the alcohol smell, and her failed tests, Officer Marchetti arrested Anngie for DUI. They searched her car and found open booze bottles. They towed the Jetta for a 12-hour hold under John's Law. He took Anngie to the station for booking. There, they read her the rights for drivers. She agreed to give breath samples. The Alcotest showed 0.17% blood alcohol—twice the 0.08% limit. After paperwork, they let her go to her mom. She signed the liability form for Anngie. A court date waited ahead. Officer Marchetti gave Anngie these tickets: driving drunk, reckless driving, open container. Miguel got charged with breaking ordinance 3-29 for bad behavior. Plus disorderly conduct under 2C:33-2A(2). They released him with a court summons. Court files show Anngie pled guilty to DUI on February 27, 2024. Her sentence hit hard: four months without a license. Then nine months with an interlock on her car. Twelve hours at a drunk driver class. Two days in jail. She paid $690 in fines. The other tickets got dropped in the deal. 1:01 slippers with socks, and Jaws t shirt...gotcha... 2:36 Enemies?? No, I just don't touch 50:36 Jesus Christ, how does she put up with his screaming?
