This documentary tells the terrifying true story of a small community held hostage by a silent predator. In 2002, 12-year-old Ashley Pond vanished on her way to school in Oregon City. When 13-year-old Miranda Gatis disappeared from the very same apartment complex two months later, authorities realized they were hunting a calculated serial abductor. This episode follows the complex, frustrating two-month investigation where police had to process thousands of leads and navigate a community packed with potential suspects. Attention soon focuses on Ward Weaver, a friendly, seemingly normal single father and neighbor.
