🚨 Carjacking and Wrong‑Way Buick Rendezvous Pursuit — Kansas City, Missouri (November 24, 2023) Kansas City Police were investigating a stolen vehicle recovered several days earlier when the suspect — Theopris J. Savage — jumped out of a back window of an apartment building and fled on foot. A sergeant pursued him while another joined the chase in a patrol vehicle. Savage ran to a nearby apartment complex, where officers saw him inside the victim’s 2005 Buick Rendezvous as the victim lay injured on the ground. Savage threw the SUV into reverse, ramming a marked patrol vehicle, then accelerated forward and fled the scene. At the complex exit, Savage again rammed a patrol vehicle, ignoring emergency lights and sirens. He then led officers on a high‑risk, multi‑mile pursuit, driving: 💨 Wrong way on Interstate 435 💨 Into oncoming traffic 💨 At speeds well above the posted limits 💨 Through multiple traffic violations The pursuit ended east of State Line Road when Savage lost control and crashed down a grassy embankment. Officers took him into custody. 📌 Robbery Details The victim told officers she had just arrived home with her belongings and her dog when Savage approached, asking for a ride. After she refused, Savage demanded her keys, grabbed at her pockets, and threatened to stab her. During the struggle, Savage punched her twice, knocking her to the ground and injuring her arm, back, hip, and tailbone. He then stole her vehicle and fled. 📌 Suspect Interview Savage admitted: • He fled because he had warrants • He grabbed the victim’s keys • He drove away in her vehicle • He knowingly entered a “high‑speed pursuit” • He drove the wrong way on the interstate He denied assaulting the victim or ramming police vehicles.
