*Happy Taco Tuesday! Please check on your elderly neighbors, during the inclement weather. Thank you!!!* On 12/29/2025 at 0000 hours, I conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2016 Buick Lacrosse displaying Arkansas LPN BAU10Z for going left of center near E Bethany and Hwy 161. The driver, later identified as Antonio Rice fled eastbound on Bethany at an approximate speed of 50mph where the posted speed is 35mph. I pursued Rice with my emergency lights and siren activated. He continued northbound on Sims, then westbound through a backyard. I know this area frequently has pedestrian traffic. I was able to safely maneuver through the backyard, he continued to flee southbound, and back on Bethany westbound. He immediately turned southbound on Marvin St at an approximate speed of 50mph where the posted speed limit is 25mph. He continued towards Emily St westbound, but went through another yard southbound of Emily St. He exited the vehicle and ran westbound towards Hwy 161, I observed him toss a black bag under a food truck, as he continued southbound along Hwy 161. I was giving him commands to stop which he completely ignored. Officer Looper arrived on scene and deployed K9 Xander. See Officer Looper's supplement for further. Rice was apprehended by K9 Xander inside a creek near Chiquito St. and Hwy 161, and taken into custody. A search of Rice's path of travel revealed a loaded black Smith and Wesson handgun, serial number RHH4251 with an extra loaded magazine in the bag I observed him throw. A search of the vehicle revealed a baggie containing Marijuana approximately 9.7 grams. An ACIC check revealed . Rice was transported to Baptist Springhill to get medical attention, once medically cleared he was transported to PCSO without incident on the charges of possession of firearms by a certain person, fleeing via vehicle, possession of schedule VI with purpose to deliver, fleeing on foot, driving left to center, and driving on a suspended license. I took possession of all the collected evidence and transported it to the department’s property room where I completed a property sheet, an Arkansas Crime lab form, and a firearm screen report. The MVR and body mic in unit 2010 were functioning and recording during these events.
