On January 17th, 2025, deputies in Park Forest, Illinois responded to a motorist assist call. Dispatch had already been told: the driver appeared intoxicated, and there was a child in the vehicle. They found the man, Nathan passed out in the driver's seat of a gray Chrysler minivan, head slumped forward, sitting approximately 200 feet off the road in a ditch. Officers noted an overwhelming odor of alcohol and described his eyes as extremely glossy, watery, and bloodshot. His responses were slow, sluggish, and largely unintelligible. The man's child was in the vehicle. He was removed by a sergeant and transported to his mother. An Illinois DCFS intake form was completed on scene. He refused to provide a breath sample and initially resisted entering the squad car. After his arrest, he was transported to Will County Adult Detention Facility, where he was refused intake due to the severity of his intoxication and transported instead to Silver Cross Hospital. He was charged with child endangerment, two counts of DUI, operating an uninsured vehicle, and improper lane usage. This video is for educational and informational purposes only.
