On September 25, 2026 in Eastpointe, Michigan, suspect Jeremy Johnson accelerated his truck during a traffic stop and ran over an Eastpointe police officer’s legs while fleeing. The truck and attached trailer were loaded with stolen items from a local gardening business. Johnson fled the wrong way, abandoned the vehicle (which shed landscaping equipment that struck at least one cruiser), then tried to camouflage himself on a residential porch before officers quickly located and arrested him. The injured officer was treated for leg injuries and is expected to recover. Full bodycam-style breakdown of the escape, the porch hide attempt, and the arrest that closed the case.
