On February 24, 2026, Santa Fe County Deputies responded to a hit and run car accident. The victim described being hit from behind several times before the suspect drove away in a vehicle described as a white Kia. Several minutes later, Corporal Lattin observed a white Kia parked in the center median of Interstate 25. He stopped his patrol car and made contact with the 22-year-old driver, who he found passed out being the wheel. She denied consuming alcohol and didn't know how the front of her vehicle became damaged. She was asked to step out of her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest. While sitting in the back of the police car, she started rambling nonsense while looking directly at the in-car camera. She was transported to the Sheriff's Station, where she provided two breath samples. The results were 0.21% BAC. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
