On April 3, 2026, the Columbia Police Department arrested James Faup — the 39-year-old parking manager for the City of Columbia, Missouri — after receiving an anonymous tip that someone wearing a Columbia Public Works uniform had been exchanging large amounts of coins at a local business. Investigators identified Faup as the individual and determined he had been removing coins from city-owned parking meters and exchanging them for paper currency for his own personal use over an extended period. Faup was terminated from his position and arrested on suspicion of felony stealing on the same day. ––– Disclaimer: This video is a dramatization based on real events.
