On March 8, 2024, at approximately 10:07 p.m., Hamilton Township Police Officers Derek Fiabane and Paul Piromalli responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute on Orchard Avenue in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. Upon arrival, they encountered 44-year-old Vincent Correa, who was armed with a rifle. As the officers entered the residence, Correa opened fire, striking Officer Fiabane multiple times. The officers returned fire, resulting in Correa being neutralized. A rifle and a handgun were recovered from Correa's person.
