On October 28, 2024, at approximately 0214 hours, a group of law enforcement officers was traveling northbound when an individual began shining a green laser into their patrol vehicles multiple times. One officer observed a white male standing in front of a nearby venue directing the laser toward the police cars. Upon exiting their vehicles, the individual fled towards the back and ran onto another street. The officers turned their vehicle around and headed toward the venue, where they spoke to a bystander who identified the suspect and provided a description. They entered the venue and spoke with the bartender, who confirmed the suspect's identity and mentioned that he had run to the back. The officers proceeded to the back area, where they saw a gate close as they approached. Upon opening the gate, they noticed the suspect exiting the property and closing the gate behind him. As the officers entered the adjacent street, they did not see the suspect initially but soon spotted him running southbound. The officers issued multiple verbal commands for the suspect to stop, warning that he would be tased if he did not comply. Ignoring these commands, the suspect continued to flee onto private property. He attempted to evade capture by climbing a fence. One officer deployed a taser, successfully connecting with the suspect, who fell to the ground. Despite efforts to place the suspect in handcuffs, he resisted and failed to follow commands. The officer cycled the taser again to gain compliance, but the device lost connection and was ineffective. The suspect continued to resist until he was finally subdued and handcuffed. He was transported to the medical facility. There, he provided a false name before revealing his true identity. Witnesses confirmed the suspect's actions of shining the laser at the police vehicles.
