On January 14, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers pulled over a car near Long Beach Boulevard and Interstate 105 in Los Angeles County after seeing it run a red light. The Police bodycam captured traffic stop. The driver showed signs of being under the influence, like red, watery eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol. Although the driver denied drinking, she failed several field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test showed BAC levels of about 0.164% and 0.169%, over twice California’s legal limit. The driver was arrested for DUI but became combative, ignoring commands, resisting physically, kicking officers, and trying to spit on them, prompting the use of restraints. A later chemical breath test recorded BAC levels of about 0.161% and 0.158%.
