On December 11, 2023, Pullman police officers received multiple calls about a hit and run car accident. The vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed, as captured on cell phone video. About 12 minutes later, police received calls about a disturbance involving a suspicious vehicle. When they arrived, it was the same vehicle that was involved in the hit and run accident. Police contacted the female driver who admitted to consuming alcohol. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs), which were ended early because she was so unsteady on her feet. She submitted to a portable breath test (PBT) and the result was 0.207% BAC. She was arrested for hit and run and DUI and was transported to the Pullman police station. At the police station, she submitted to an evidential breath test (EBT) and the result was 0.17% BAC. She was released several hours later with a pending court date. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
