This is the story of Aaron and Paul, two men trapped in the UK's most controversial justice policy, the Imprisonment for Public Protection (IP) sentence. With no release date in sight, they find themselves lost in a legal limbo, fighting against a broken system that claims to reform criminals but often leaves them with no hope. One man, unable to cope with the uncertainty, turns to self-harm in a desperate cry for help, while the other desperately tries to prove he's a changed man, only to be held back by his past. This documentary follows their emotional and intense journeys as they try to survive a sentence that even its creators admit was a mistake. Witness the brutal reality of a justice system designed to protect the public but which, for many, has become a life sentence. This is the programme 'Crime and Punishment'.
