A quiet early morning in North Bergen turned into a tragedy that officers will never forget. Just minutes after a routine traffic stop, the same officer who had just warned a young couple to drive safely was suddenly standing over their wrecked car… and both of them were gone. In tonight’s video, we break down the full bodycam and investigation timeline of the fatal crash involving 24-year-old Luis Fernando Cevallos and 27-year-old Alexis Rodriguez, who were reportedly on their first date the night they lost their lives. From the initial speeding stop, to the emotional interaction with Officer Nunez, to the shocking second call just 11 minutes later — this is one of the most heartbreaking cases we’ve ever covered. We walk through: The speeding stop at 61st Street & Kennedy Boulevard The officer’s warning to “drive safe” The tractor-trailer impact on Route 1-9 The investigation that revealed the Kia Stinger was going 124 MPH just five seconds before impact How officers identified the victims and notified the families Why investigators confirmed the crash was 100% preventable This story is emotional, tragic, and a powerful reminder of how fast a single decision on the road can change everything. 👇 COMMENT BELOW: What should the speed limit penalties be in situations like this? #policebodycam #bodycamfootage #fatalaccident #northbergen #trafficstop #tragedy #truecrime #policevideo #investigation #kiaStingerCrash #firstdate #reallifestories
