Driver’s Refusal To Step Out Of Car Ends In A Disaster A deputy on patrol initiated a traffic stop after observing a female driver operating a vehicle without a seatbelt. The deputy also noted that a young child in the back seat was not properly secured in a car seat. The driver refused to immediately pull over, slow-rolling the vehicle before coming to a stop in a residential neighborhood. Upon making contact, the driver refused to roll down her windows, turn off the vehicle, or exit the car when ordered. After a brief physical struggle where she actively resisted the deputy, she was detained. The driver's mother was called to the scene to take custody of the child. The driver was transported to the county jail and charged with driving on a suspended license, resisting an officer without violence, and multiple traffic citations.
