Upon running the vehicle’s tags, he discovered it was linked to a known offender currently on felony probation with strict conditions—including a ban on alcohol. As the deputy approached, he immediately spotted an open alcoholic beverage inside the car. Behind the wheel sat the man in question, the sole occupant—aside from a medium-sized dog in the passenger seat. The suspect admitted to being on probation and acknowledged he wasn’t allowed to drink. However, when questioned about the alcohol, his story quickly unraveled. First, he claimed it belonged to his mother. Then, he said it was a friend’s. Moments later, he changed his story again, saying he had given a ride to a female employee. When the deputy checked with the employee, she flat-out denied his claims. As backup arrived, the suspect’s behavior became increasingly erratic. He began shouting and pacing, refusing multiple commands to remain still. When the deputy attempted to detain him for officer safety, the situation escalated—he tensed his body, pulled away, and resisted being handcuffed. After a struggle, deputies gained control and secured him in the patrol car. But the night wasn’t over. Once in custody, he continued to cause a disturbance—screaming at customers and yelling the employee’s name repeatedly, disrupting the peace of the business.
