The car, later identified as driven by Edward Lee House, did not stop but sped up. The two engaged in a high speed chase into the City of Conway, with Suspect House driving extremely fast, and at times in the wrong direction, onto Dave Ward Drive, one of the busiest streets in Conway. At some point, Suspect House began to fire 7.62 rounds from a long rifle at Trooper Langley. There was significant traffic due to the time of day. Suspect House ended up pulling over, jumped out of the car and shot a 4th time at Trooper Langley before being apprehended. There was a female passenger in the car with Suspect House who told Law Enforcement that Suspect House said he was going to kill the Trooper.
