Wildlife officers were on water patrol in the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) in the slow speed zone at the Vilano Bridge just north of downtown St. Augustine. They noticed a personal watercraft (PWC) speed through the zone on a plane after leaving the dock at a local eatery. While Officer Young conducted a boating safety inspection, he noticed that the man was disoriented, speaking slowly, slurring his words, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage was present. Officer Young conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks (SFSTs) and the operator was arrested for BUI.
