Around 7:03 PM, Sergeant Matthew Gajewski with the Union Beach Police Department observed a disabled 2020 Toyota SUV with a flat tire. Upon contact, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and noted the driver's slurred speech, prompting suspicion of impairment. The driver initially refused to provide documents and subsequently failed multiple field sobriety exercises, including the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand tests.
