A motorcycle stop in Thurston County turned into a chase after the rider took off and cut across private property. Deputies followed as he went off-road, climbed up the back side of a hill, and tried to keep moving even while pushing the motorcycle. Then the pursuit took a strange turn. As the sergeant closed in, he warned the suspect that a dog was coming and started making a convincing K-9 whine. Seconds later, the suspect stopped fighting the moment and gave up. The bodycam footage shows how fast the whole thing changed. There was no actual bite, no reported injury, and the suspect was taken into custody without the chase getting worse. Sometimes it is not just speed that ends a pursuit, it is quick thinking. Would that fake K-9 sound have fooled you in the same situation?
