A 67-year-old man built himself a fake police van — red and blue lights, a badge, a replica gun — and was pulling real drivers over. Then a Montgomery County officer pulled HIM over. On August 29, 2025, a Montgomery County (MD) police officer spotted a Ford Transit van marked 'Police' and 'Policia' with activated red and blue lights that didn't match any real agency, and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, 67-year-old Alejandro Zunca, claimed he 'was' an officer but produced no documentation. He was carrying a fake badge and a holster with a replica pistol; a taser, handcuffs, and other police-style gear were in the van. Detectives determined Zunca had conducted traffic stops in another jurisdiction and asked anyone he had pulled over to come forward. He was charged with impersonating a police officer and cited for unlawful use of red and blue lights. Bodycam released by the Montgomery County Department of Police.
