Officers soon located the suspect, 36-year-old Keith, driving a green truck. When they attempted a stop, Keith sped off but was quickly forced to pull over. The situation escalated as he charged at a sergeant with clenched fists, ignoring commands until a Taser was deployed. Once restrained, Keith repeatedly accused officers of staging a “setup” and hurled insults, calling them crooked and corrupt. A search of his vehicle revealed an open bottle of Canadian Mist whiskey, confirming suspicions of intoxication. Keith slurred his words, appeared impaired, and lacked the required ignition interlock device. He refused a blood test, claiming further conspiracy, and while being transported made disturbing threats, including suggesting an officer might end up in a coma. At the hospital, he was cleared medically and taken to jail. Keith was charged with felony fleeing, along with multiple misdemeanors including third-offense OWI, resisting, tampering with the IID, and operating while revoked. His bond was set at $1,500 plus $1,200 in citations. Later, Keith pled no contest and was sentenced to three years’ probation under strict conditions.
