On November 17, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Police Officer Joseph Cahill was approached by a manager at CVS, 59 Washington St., who told him a man had just left the store with two packages of Cup of Noodles Stir Fry, valued at $4.38, without paying. Sgt. Christopher LaBruno observed a man matching the description given to Officer Cahill near the intersection of Second and Washington Streets. The man, later identified as 32-year-old Rodney Hamilton of Newark, was stopped, placed under arrest for shoplifting, and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Police Officers Joshua Campoverde, Harry Montalvo, and Anthony Ingraffia also assisted in this arrest. Hamilton was processed and released on a summons. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide. #noodles #news #police
