When a twelve-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a New Mexico backyard shed, a frantic 911 call cut out before dispatch could gather answers. This in-depth true crime case examination explores the tragic death of young Brent in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and the shocking family secret that took years to fully unravel. Investigators arrived at the scene to find conflicting stories, a suspicious man fleeing the property with a backpack, and a locked shed. As detectives dug deeper into the background of Brent's mother, Alexis, and grandmother, Kelly, a much darker reality surfaced. What began as a sudden tragedy quickly pointed toward a recurring family-run distribution setup involving illicit substances, multiple previous overdoses that went unreported to hospitals, and a complete failure of protection by the adults closest to him. This comprehensive cold case breakdown looks at the police bodycam footage, the interrogation room breakthroughs, the charging documents, and the ultimate search for accountability in Eddy County. Court records and public filings ultimately led to convictions, but the central question remains why it took a young life for the system and the family to face the truth. Police Bodycam investigates cold cases, unsolved mysteries, and cases that took years to resolve, bringing you deep into the official records, interrogation rooms, and investigative breakthroughs.
