On November 13, 2024, Washington State Patrol troopers initiated a pursuit of a silver Infiniti sedan on Interstate 82 after observing the vehicle traveling at erratic speeds and having difficulty maintaining its lane. Troopers suspected the driver was under the influence, and during the pursuit, the vehicle reportedly reached speeds exceeding 100 mph. The driver was later identified as Misael Altamirano-Rabadan. As the pursuit continued, additional law enforcement officers responded to assist Washington State Patrol. Troopers attempted to deploy spike strips, with an initial attempt proving unsuccessful. Authorities later believed they successfully spiked the Infiniti near milepost 103. Due to heavy traffic, troopers temporarily discontinued the pursuit while continuing to observe the vehicle from a distance before the pursuit later resumed when traffic conditions improved. According to the report, Altamirano-Rabadan continued fleeing from law enforcement as officers worked to safely bring the high-speed pursuit to an end. He was ultimately charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and attempting to elude police. Watch the body cam and dash cam footage as Washington State Patrol troopers and assisting officers pursue the Infiniti at speeds exceeding 100 mph and attempt to stop the fleeing driver.
