On May 17, 2025, Pullman Police Officer Talib observed a vehicle driving without headlights on. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 26-year-old woman. She immediately admitted to consuming alcohol. An open container of "Twisted Tea" was observed in the cup holder. As a result, the driver was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She also provided a sample for a preliminary breath test (PBT) and the result was 0.148% BAC. She then admitted to Officer Aubertin that she was the designated driver and had previously been arrested for DUI in Idaho. She was placed under arrest again and was transported to the Pullman Police holding facility. She submitted to an evidential breath test and due to her previous DUI arrest, she was taken to the Whitman County Jail.
