On June 20, 2024, Milwaukee Police Officers attempted to stop a white SUV believed to be involved in an armed robbery and carjacking. After initially pulling over, the vehicle sped away. The pursuit involved high speeds, with the SUV often traveling in the wrong lanes of traffic. They eventually drove into a construction zone on the highway and were blocked by a cement truck. The SUV then backup up striking one of the patrol vehicles. That is when officers opened fire, striking one of the four occupants of the vehicle.
